August Bank Holiday weekend

Well having finished work early on the Friday I eventually got home around 4pm!!! There had been a bad road accident in the Hertford Road and this had caused a major traffic problem in the area. Ah wellthese things are sent to try us.

I got myself ready and headed out to get to the pub for a few drinks with my work colleagues. I got the bus and eventually arrived at around 6pm. I hadnt expected to be the first to arrive but I was. Got myself a drink - a large Vodka and coke - and segttled down to await the mob arrival. Still waiting at 6 30 and at last one person arrived and we sat down chatted and waited the rest. eventually there was about a dozen of us and the night passed with a little problem but was dealt with. I got a cab home and went to bed. Boring I KNOW.

However, I was looking forward to seeing a friend I hadn't seen for around 16 years. We lost contact but through friendsreunited and facebook got in touch again. So on the Saturday I did all the shopping and then got ready to head off to a pub in Greenwich. That joiurney was like a mission - it actually tookme over three hours but I eventually got there. Apart from looking older he hadnt changed much. We sat down and chatted about work and some of the old days. That night the pub had an Elvis sound and lookalike and it was great. Eventually the time had come for the pub and show to end. As is traditional we headed for something to eat in a local Kebab shop. I said my farewells and got the 188 bus to head back home finally getting in about 5am!!!!!

The rest of the weekend was really about rest and getting things ready for returning to work on the Tuesday.
